| Description: | Asagiri Jamboree G.C. is a great course that yearly hosts the Shizuoka Amateur put on by the Shizuoka Golf Association. Picturesquely laid on the foothills of world famous Mt. Fuji this wide open country parkland course is kept to a high international standard with large Bent greens. There are three different 9's which are relatively wide open and forgiving with most holes offering panoramic views of nearby Mt. Fuji.
It used be one of the more expensive golf clubs to become a member of in Japan. The admission fee for the membership was about 100 million yen (1 million US$) some 18 years ago, but in these more customer-centric days, green fees are well within reason and "even a bit of a deal" considering the quality of the course and experience! The course is very recommendable for those who wish to enjoy both golf and Mt. Fuji, but it does take about 2 hours to get to from central Tokyo as it is 28km from the Tomei Fuji interchange right around the back side of Mt. Fuji. |
