How, when and why was Golf Course realty formed?
Golf Course Realty was formed back in November 2004. I had spent several years working successfully in the Gold Coast Real Estate industry and started to find a growing interest by both buyers and developers in gated Golf Course communities. So therefore with my combined knowledge of both real estate and golf decided to form Australia's first ever Golf Course Residential home specialist.

Golf course realty has become very much vogue in Australia with buyers now looking for homes that have the Security aspect of a gated community, along with amenities, peacefulness, easy accessibility to the course and a backyard which has the view of an immaculately well manicured garden (golf course)
What are the key areas for those outside of Australia looking to invest?
Key areas for those looking to invest are firstly for non residents of Australia homes that are F.I.R.B approved, which you will normally find in the larger developments such as THE GLADES, LAKELANDS, HOPE ISLAND, SANCTUARY COVE.
Looking at an investment from a rental point of view there are some good buys at The Glades for 3 bed apartments with golf views and gated access starting from A$325,000 with rent potential around A$350.00 P/W. For the buyer who is looking for a holiday home with little or no maintenance in a gated community with fabulous views of course, water, mountains and club house and all within just a stone throw of the first tee of one of Australia's premium golf courses should then look at Lakeland's golf course on the Gold Coast which is now just starting to sell their new premium style 9 story apartments which are being built by Multiplex.
Where does most of your interest come from - is it domestic or overseas buyers?
Most of the interest comes from local buyers. However during 2005 the interest from abroad in Australia Real Estate has increased, we expect Golf Course properties to be a significant part of this year.
Investing in this type of property what are the key gains you can highlight e.g. rentals, appreciation, lifestyle?
Key gains would have to boil down to the unique style of lifestyle and each course has its own special qualities e.g. Lakeland's golf course is very unique where it is very central, has ocean access from within the estate giving some of the residences the very rare and unique opportunity to have a combination of water views, course views, mountain views and ocean access from your own backyard.
Are there any restrictions on foreign purchase and investment into Golf Course Realty in Australia?
As long as the homes are F.I.R.B approved then there shouldn't be an issue.
