Background & Purpose
The idea for the site came partly out of frustration, partly out of an expressed need from fellow foreign golfers here in Japan. Frustration over the difficulty of finding information on courses and the almost impossibility of making reservations in English.
With almost no information in English available on golf in Japan it has been a logistical nightmare for expats and non Japanese to locate, reserve and get directions to a course in any area of Japan. With a large golfing community of foreign residents here in Japan wishing to do so, this site presents a long awaited, natural progression and an advancement to the Japanese golf industry. The site is in English only, as there are at least five or six similar sites currently available in Japanese.
In this site you can find information and help on how to improve your golf experiences in Japan as well as interesting features and articles. Our ambition is to make this a true "one stop shop for worry free golf" for expats and visitors from all around the world. With some of the most breath taking golf available anywhere, here in Japan, we want you to enjoy easy access to an "informed" round of golf at courses that welcome you. Take advantage of our ever expanding "free" reservation system.
To keep this site current, attractive, interactive and expanding, we need the help of, and rely on, people who play golf here in Japan. The rating of courses, in a reliable fashion, is achieved with input form players here in Japan and provides a true all around rating system from the international golfers perspective, to those of us here and the world!
Course coverage
The site now covers all 2,348 golf courses in Japan. If you find that a course is missing from our database, please contact us and we will do our best to enter it in immediately.
Access to all areas on the site
Most parts of the site are open to all to keep the site highly visited and used as well as providing better value to our advertisers. However, some parts and functions are only open to members.
The idea behind 'members pages' is to increase the reliability of the ratings, and to give those who make ratings an opportunity to check their scores and ratings on courses they have played. Note that your name and score will not be seen by other users. In the comments seen after the rating table on the course pages, the person who made the comments would be identified only by his/her username. The reason we only allow members to rate courses played is to avoid fraudulent ratings by those who might seek to abuse the system, e.g. courses staff rating their own club to achieve higher ratings.
How to get started
If you are a first time visitor and would like to fully utilize the site, make ratings and see your play statistics, please become a member and help inform the rest of the world about the courses you have played. It's all "free", just click Register.
Fill out the form and click submit.
To start using the site, before you begin, you should logon. Fill in your username and password in the boxes and if you want your computer to remember your login info to this site, check the 'Remember me' box. Then you will always be automatically logged in when you visit this site from the same computer.
Then click Login.
