Date: 2012-10-16 Player: gwlynch Best golfing experience in Japan so far. A wonderful course with great views and service. Wide fairways for beginners and the price was nominal for the quality of service. A 2 hour drive from Yokota Air Base and well worth the trip.
Date: 2011-07-24 Player: bogeychamp Easy access (1 hour) from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Excellent design by Jack Nicklaus with 5 sets of tees for all levels of golfers. Hospitality to non-Japanese speaking golfers by Jim Fletcher and his team is second to none for a Japanese golf course. Executive Chef Serge Trocme from France not only produces delicious menus, he also takes the trouble to talk to guests during lunch time. Unbeatable value for money too.
Date: 2011-05-03 Player: hat-trick Decent course and no complaints, but it's just way too far away from central Tokyo. Granted it was during GW, but it took 6 hours to get there and 4 hours on the way back on the Kan-etsu. Since it's 45 minutes away from the highway exit it's so hard to cut down much of the travel time. Played a 2-day/1 night, 36-hole package for Y27,000pp including lunches and hotel which was decent value. Great service and facilities but would not return due to distance from Tokyo.
Date: 2010-10-23 Player: Ben Hogan Great course...just a bit of a trek to get there! If you could transplant it nearer to Tokyo, you couldn't play it at 4 times the green fee. Good value and well designed.
Date: 2009-10-15 Player: LosVerdes1 First time. Now in my top 3 in Japan. Big course that does not include typical "forced design" holes that you usually see in Tokyo area courses because of a lack of land area. Different perspectives and lengths from tee to green. Grand vista views enhance the great shots and provide relief when you hit them OB.
Date: 2009-08-03 Player: Guri This is a super course. On every tee, you can clearly plot a strategy to make birdie. Execute and you'll achieve it but stray of course and you'll be punsihed. This is basic stuff but surprising how clear one feels when courses are designed well. The conditioning of fairways and greens was also fantastic and the personal service from Jim was also appreciated. My only criticism of the day would be the waiting around on tees for groups ahead to finish - I'm not sure this was the fault of course management though (as on some other courses) so still happy to give this 5 out of 5. Go and play it.
Date: 2009-07-03 Player: PRESTON My friend and I played last Friday and man was it a very nice course. The fairways and green are a golfer's dream. Over the past twenty years I have played many courses in Japan and I have placed Harunanomori as one of my top three courses to play. For it's design, playability and value, I have place it as number one. But to put all that aside, we had to give Jim a 10 for his outstanding customer service. We will surely return soon and we hope to bring a group of 10 or more. I will share this well kept beautiful course with all my good friends and golfers. Thanks again to Jim and his staff for a great day of golf.

Date: 2009-04-03 Player: tommy My god! Nicklaus has to design these courses that almost cannot be found by a GPS!! It's hard to believe civilization exists out here!! Has a great view of 'Asama'' (famous Volcano)and although the course is situated halfway up a mountain it's not to "Hilly". Nicklaus did a great job with the course, probably his best design. Also the atmosphere, course condition, pace of play and facility's make the course a must see. highly recommended!!!
Date: 2009-04-02 Player: willy This course is designed by the one and only Jack Nicklaus. For starters that says a lot. But when you get on the course you are introduced to Scotland, Augusta and the local scenery. Breathtaking! The course is run by a Japanese Canadian and Jim Fletcher is head of sales. So you won't have a problem with speaking English. Oh did I mention they have a real French chef! Roast Beef sandwiches and awesome club sandwiches the list goes on.
Date: 2009-03-03 Player: chopper Very enjoyable mountain course with good risk / reward layout. Greens in excellent condition. Best to stay overnight as a little far for a day's golf trek. Food fantastic.
Date: 2008-10-21 Player: godzilla Jack Nicklaus gives you the following: testing course strategy; well thought out holes and challenging approaches. Gunma prefecture gives you mist-filled vistas over mountain ranges disappearing into the distance; and tree-lined fairways that will test al
Date: 2008-10-02 Player: golfer Doesnt have the views of a Narusawa, but the layout is first class.Management have done a great job keeping a good pace of play, good condition, good food, and an overall excellent experience.5 rated course.Only problem is its 2.5 hours from Tokyo...
Date: 2008-09-14 Player: golfer Maybe one of the best mountain courses in Japan, just behind Narusawa. Solid layout with not too much up and down. Only weak holes are 1,9, and 10. Very far from the IC.
Date: 0000-00-00 Player: Chu-Hi Lovely course and Jim Fletcher a very welcoming host. Fodd is top notch. Course is simply stunning but it takes a hell of a long time to get there from Tokyo.
